What is an ACCUPLACER Placement Test?

A placement exam is required for all students who take not successfully completed higher-level English and/or math classes. Placement testing helps identify your academic strengths and needs in math, English language and reading. The test is not timed, merely usually takes one½ hours to complete. Is there a fee for the exam?

What if English is not my first linguistic communication?

There is a special ESL exam for students whose first linguistic communication is not English language. The ESL tests are Reading Skills, Sentence Pregnant and Language Usage. CLEP (College-Level Test Program) and DSST exams provide students the opportunity to receive college credit for cognition acquired through independent or prior study, on-the-job grooming, professional person development, or internships. Credit is awarded by earning qualifying scores on any of the 33 computerized CLEP exams or 38 DSST tests.

HCC recognizes and awards CLEP and DSST credit for students who are matriculated and are using the credits towards degree requirements. Students are brash to meet with their bookish advisors prior to scheduling an exam to make sure the CLEP credits will fit into the requirements and/or electives of their selected major. Credits will appear on HCC transcripts but are non used for calculating Class Point Average or eligibility for Academic Honors designation at graduation.

TO REGISTER FOR A DSST Examination:

Call the Testing Center (203 332-5217) to schedule the test and pay the non-refundable assistants fee of $xv (for current customs college students) or $35 (exterior students) A photo ID and test fee of $100 (credit cards just) is required on the day of the exam.

TO REGISTER FOR A CLEP Exam:

Go to collegeboard.org and click on CLEP. Y'all will be asked to create an account which will allow you to annals and pay the $89 exam fee. A CLEP exam ticket will be mailed to your email address. What is the Computer Literacy Requirement?

In today's global society, computer literacy has become an essential skill, comparable to reading, writing, and arithmetics.
